ROCHESTER – Joe Casey’s campaign announced today that he will stand with New Future’s Five Points for New Hampshire’s Future, which sets a course to fix the state’s health crisis. “I think that this plan is key to our success in dealing with the opioid crisis in this state.” Mr. Casey said. “It presents strong substantive changes we can make that are just common sense for businesses and New Hampshire working families.”
New Futures’ five points include the 1) Restoration of the Alcohol Fund, 2) Support for Permanent Medicaid Expansion, 3) Investment in Evidence-Informed Prevention Programs, 4) Advancement of Behavioral Workforce Development, and 5) Removing Barriers to Insurance Coverage. New Futures is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that seeks to prevent and reduce alcohol and other drug problems through advocacy, education, and collaboration with policymakers and stakeholders in New Hampshire.
“The way I see it, we have a responsibility to protect and increase access to the care Granite Staters need, and making sure that we get more people covered and permanently expand Medicaid is vital to that mission,” Casey continued, “I wrote last week about confronting this crisis as a community, especially through education, and New Futures fully understands the importance of it.”
